If you’re comfortable choosing your next mortgage deal and don’t require mortgage advice, it’s easy and convenient to switch online.

Switching your deal online

If your mortgage deal with us is coming to an end, and you're happy picking your next deal without advice, you can switch online. It's quick and easy.

You’ll need to complete your switch at least 14 days before the 1st of the month that you require your new mortgage deal to take effect.

•    Complete the switch at a time and place convenient for you
•    No early repayment charges if you're switching within 90 days of your current deal ending
•    We won't need to assess your affordability or require proof of income
•    A new valuation is not needed, as a UK House Price Index is used to calculate the value of your property

To get started, have your mortgage account number, full name, date of birth and post code of the mortgaged property ready.

Not all mortgages can be switched online

Some mortgages are a bit trickier than others and can't be switched online. These mortgages include:

•    Shared Ownership, Shared Equity and Help to Buy
•    Certain Buy-to-Let mortgages, including Holiday Let, Expat and Consumer (renting out a home you or family have lived in before)
•    On our Standard Variable or Buy-to-Let Variable rate mortgage
•    Behind on your mortgage repayments
•    More than 120 days left on your current deal
•    Over 90% loan to value
•    Less than 2 years left on the term

If your mortgage is on this list, please talk to your Intermediary or book an appointment with one of our Mortgage Advisers. 

You'll also need their help if you're concerned that you might not be able to make your revised monthly payment or  you're looking to make any other changes to your mortgage, such as borrowing more money or changing the mortgage term.
