The Cambridge launches mobile app

As part of its ongoing investment in technology The Cambridge has introduced its first mobile app giving customers the flexibility of being able to check their accounts on the move.
The Cambridge money app will allow customers to view up to date account information wherever they are with options to update personal details and transfer money. This will save them having to find time to pop into branch or call the Customer Contact Centre for basic queries.
The highly secure free app, which has a biometric or passcode authentication, has been developed by retail finance technology experts DPR who also worked with The Cambridge on its recent IT overhaul.
The Cambridge’s Head of IT Trevor Tannenbaum (pictured right) said: “We’re the first DPR users to launch a consumer mobile app so we’ve spent a lot of time working with them to make sure it gives customers the information they want on the move – as well as making sure it’s simple to use and looks good.
“The Cambridge money app has been highly anticipated by the whole team and we are excited about what this offers our customers.
“With customers able to do simple account administration through the app our frontline staff will have more time to help customers who need advice with their mortgages or savings. This is a great way for technology to support personal service rather than being a replacement for face to face interaction."
The Cambridge money app users will also be able send secure messages to The Cambridge team and view documents associated with their account such as tax statements, account statements they’ve asked for or redemption information.
The app also includes general information such as a branch locator and branch information, as well as contact details and opening times. Additional functionality will be introduced as the app evolves.
Dave Patel, Director at DPR said: “DPR is committed to continually offer The Cambridge with innovative solutions working together with their inventive requirements. Having worked with them for many years, we are committed to continue supporting their transition by developing their customer self-service offerings. ”
The Cambridge money app is currently available for download in the App Store for customers who have registered for online access or have an e-account. An android version is due for release in the autumn.
