The Cambridge is delighted to be continuing our partnership with the Perse School as sponsor of their Community Lecture Series. The series is part of the school’s far-reaching community programme – bringing fascinating speakers to share their expertise with a local audience.

The Michaelmas term lecture will be given by Bridget Kendall MBE on The Roller Coaster Ride of Modern Day Anglo-Russian Relations.

About the speaker
Bridget Kendall is the first female Master of Peterhouse, Cambridge University’s oldest College. Prior to taking up her appointment at Peterhouse, she was the BBC’s award winning Diplomatic Correspondent, covering major international news for BBC radio, television and online. She is also former BBC Washington correspondent and was the BBC’s Moscow correspondent during the collapse of Communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.

She speaks fluent Russian, has twice interviewed President Putin and maintains a close interest in Russia and East/West relations. Among her awards are the James Cameron Award for distinguished journalism and an MBE from Her Majesty the Queen in the 1994 New Year’s Honours list. She is also presenter of The Forum for BBC radio, a weekly discussion programme which explores new ideas and research from around the world.

Tickets for this lecture will go on general release at 10am on Monday 2 September 2019.
Advance booking for Cambridge Building Society members will be available from 10am on Saturday 31 August.
