About the role

A rare opportunity has arisen for a new position of Financial Crime Manager at The Cambridge.  This role will suit an individual with industry background knowledge of financial crime systems and controls, who is ambitious and wants to take ownership of the implementation of change.

You’ll be based within the Compliance Team and work with the Financial Crime Officer.

Salary and working hours

Salary £50,000 per annum

Monday to Friday 8:45am - 5:00pm (36.25 hours per week)

What you’ll be doing day-to-day?

Lead and develop the Society’s second line fraud prevention function, supporting first line with knowledge, oversight and analysis

Management and training of Financial Crime Analyst, delivering change to protect the Society and its customers from financial crime

Own the financial crime policies, ensuring they are up to date and reflect latest regulatory requirements

Carry out and oversee second line of defence reviews of financial crime controls across the Society

Oversee completion of transaction monitoring tasks, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to regulatory standards

Review of existing contracts and systems, recommending change and implementing as identified where necessary for financial crime prevention

Act as Deputy MLRO and Nominated Officer

Provide oversight of Financial Crime Committee reporting, working with Business Intelligence team to streamline effective Management Information

Work with IT team to support cyber security design and updates to core system to address financial crime risks

Design Team and Board training to maintain knowledge and confidence in fighting financial crime

Oversee customer information/education delivery, supporting enhanced financial crime awareness

Maintain a high level of professional awareness and understanding of external developments in legislation and regulation, ensuring the Society remains compliant at all times

You will be someone with

Leadership skills

Financial services expertise

Financial crime investigation experience

Systems and monitoring tools design and implementation skills

Change Management experience
