The Way To Be Awards 2006
23.11.2006
The Way To Be Awards were launched in 2004 to celebrate and promote a more enlightened attitude to disability, across all sectors of society. Their aim is to reward the services and businesses that go out of their way to make their facilities accessible to disabled people.
The Cambridge Building Society was nominated for an award at this year's ceremony, which was held at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on the 23rd November. The Society received its nomination for its induction loop system, which helps hearing aid users when using the Society's branches.
The loop system has been installed at each of the till points in all of the Society's 23 branches. The system interacts between the microphone on the till position and the hearing aid, to reduce background noise, making hearing much easier.
