New look for Society's Ely branch 13.08.2007

Staff and customers at the Ely office of Cambridge Building Society are celebrating their new look branch following an extensive refurbishment.

After a period of 14 weeks, the new branch has been uncovered, revealing a light and airy banking hall which provides both formal and informal meeting areas for customers - but not at the expense of reducing the counter service that so many customers rely on for their day to day banking.

The new branch design was officially opened by Nick Hood, one of the Society's Directors, supported by members of the project team and Ely branch staff.

The first customer to use the new branch layout was also presented with a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion.

In addition to the new branch layout the Ely branch also welcomes a new member to its team. Nicola Forteath has joined from Lending Services and has taken on the role of Mortgage Adviser.

Commenting on the refurbishment, Sue Higginson, Area Manager, said:

"Our Ely branch is looking fantastic. We are delighted with its new look and are already enjoying really positive feedback from our customers.

"Thanks to the hard work and commitment of the project team and the staff here at Ely, we have been able to keep the branch open for our customers throughout the refurbishment work - only closing for one day when we relocated our staff to the back of the office to enable work to commence in the old banking hall.

"We really appreciate how patient our customers have been during the past weeks and hope they enjoy visiting their new branch as much as the Ely branch team enjoy working in it."
