People in and around Cambridge can now help a local charity by recommending a friend or family member to The Cambridge Building Society.
Magpas, The Emergency Medical Charity will benefit from The Cambridge’s new ‘Recommend a Friend’ scheme which has been launched to give loyal customers something in return.
Magpas will gain a £25 donation from every referred mortgage application that completes and furthermore, the referrer will also receive a £100 loyalty bonus.
Stephen Mitcham, Chief Executive of The Cambridge Building Society says: “This scheme has been set up to reward our loyal customers when they recommend a friend or relative for a mortgage, by giving them a loyalty bonus and also enabling them to help a very worthwhile, local charity.
“Magpas became our chosen charity for this scheme when we heard that they were struggling to maintain their service; we are pleased to be able to lend a helping hand to this essential cause.”
Magpas has been helping save lives for 40 years and has come to the rescue for over 50,000 people. Magpas provides the UK’s only dedicated night time charity air ambulance - with a highly trained doctor and paramedic on board.
Daryl Brown, Chief Executive of Magpas says: “We would like to thank The Cambridge Building Society for choosing to support Magpas; we’ve had incredible support from local people living and working in and around Cambridge, but we’re trying to encourage on-going donations. Thanks to the ‘Recommend a Friend’ scheme, the Magpas lifesaving message will continue to grow. The more money we can raise, the more lives we can save”.
All current customers qualify for The Cambridge Building Society ‘Recommend a Friend’ scheme. They can pick up a leaflet in one of the 18 local branches from 15th August and simply fill out their details and pass it on to a friend or family member, who upon speaking to a Personal Adviser about a mortgage, then needs to hand the leaflet over for the bonus and donation to then be processed when their mortgage completes.
