Sawston Fun Run and Walk announces its beneficiaries for 2007

Sawston District Rotary Club has announced the beneficiaries for the 2007 Sawston Fun Run and Walk. The event, which is sponsored by Cambridge Building Society, will take place on Sunday 29th April and hopes to attract over 900 entrants. The event aims to add substantial funds to the £271,000 that has already been raised for local charities since 1986; thereby ensuring it maintains its place as one of the largest community charity events in the region.

This year there will be 12 local beneficiaries:

The four major beneficiaries will be -
  • Addenbrooke's Hospital; to help fund new equipment for the treatment of breast cancer.
  • Milton Children's Hospice; to fund the support programmes for those families facing life-threatening situations.
  • Meldreth Manor; to purchase equipment to enhance the lives of severely disabled people.
  • Riding for the Disabled; Sawston; to pay for capital items to improve the facilities of the Sawston Riding School.

The other eight beneficiaries will be -

  • Camread;
  • Cambridge Joint Playschemes;
  • Domino Nursery School of Fulbourn;
  • The Jigsaw Playgroup of Sawston;
  • Sawston Friday Night Club;
  • Opportunities Without Limits of Sawston;
  • Sawston Forum for the Disabled;
  • Sunnyside Pre-school of Stapleford.
