Local charities and organisations benefited from this year's Sawston Fun Run and Walk at a special presentation evening held in the Henry Morris Hall on July 4th at Sawston Village College.
Over 120 members of the community, including representatives from this years 12 nominated charities, the sponsors and key supporters attended the presentation evening.
The event, organised by Sawston District Rotary Club and sponsored by the Cambridge Building Society, took place on 29th April. Over 900 entrants raised £15,250 for local charities and organisations in Sawston and Cambridgeshire, taking the total donated to over £285,000 since the annual Fun Run began in 1986.

Representatives from the 12 local charities and organisations collect their cheques.

He also awarded the annual adult and young person's shields to the two entrants who raised the most money - Howard Russell of Dry Drayton who raised £450 and Stephanie Foote of Stapleford who raised £313.
Andrew expressed the Society's pleasure at being associated with such a large community event. He said "It reflects the building society's commitment to the local community throughout its branch network and I'm pleased that our Sawston branch staff are so supportive."
