Introducing The Cambridge

Cambridge Building Society has played a major role in the development of local home ownership and provided a secure home for local savings since 1850.

Today our head office remains in the centre of Cambridge and we have 23 branches in the local area including six branches in Cambridge, one branch in each of the nearby towns including Ely, Huntingdon, Newmarket, Soham, St Ives and St Neots and a further eleven branches in surrounding villages.

Because of our strong local focus, we do not generally provide savings accounts outside our branch network area. We offer mortgage facilities throughout East Anglia.

During our long history, we have never lost sight of our key purpose: to provide a convenient, local service for our savers and the financial means to enable local people to purchase their own homes. We continually strive to improve the service we offer our members and take great care to collate and act on the feedback we receive.

We know that our members value our network of local branch offices. The convenience of having a branch close to home or work makes a big difference. In response, we continue to invest in our branch network both in terms of providing modern and efficient systems and opening hours to suit our members.

Our success is due not only to the range of services we offer and our commitment to providing competitive rates of interest, but also to the continual development of our staff. Excellent customer service is at the heart of everything we strive to achieve.

Our mission statement
The Cambridge Building Society is an independent, local, mutual society. It aims through responsible administration to offer competitive rates of interest to both savers and borrowers; and to provide a first class service to the community from conveniently situated offices.
